School Broadcast System has Text Capabilities

Lamoille North Supervisory Union is improving the system it uses to share notices, school closings and emergency notices with parents and the public.  And text messages will be used as part of those broadcasts, sent to any cellphone listed as a student contact number.

Due to Federal regulations, to receive texts from your school or district, parents must give us permission to do so.  To give that permission is very simple; You review what it means to give your permission on this instruction page and then text a 'Y' to our special number.  The sending cellphone will then be able to receive texts from the school as part of any general or emergency broadcast. This permission is not required for any voice-based broadcasts sent through this system.

Each of LNSU’s schools uses the messaging system in different ways, some daily and some less often, and all of our schools use the messaging system for any weather closing or other emergency.  Receiving such messages by text is an easier, faster and more efficient way than having to answer the phone or retrieve a voice message.

LNSU hopes that parents of our students will want to receive those broadcasts as texts and will give us permission to do so by reviewing the material and following these instructions.

If you have any questions about what numbers are listed in your student’s contact file, contact your school registrar.
